Braised Chestnut Chicken (Nyonya Style)

Notes: 

  1. Don't make this too spicy. If you love spice and can't eat something without, maybe don't make this. Somehow the lack of sweetness & strong soy flavor doesn't go with too much spice!
  2. Used packet shelled and cooked chestnut... 100% recommend. So easy!
  3. I like that this is more savory than red braised chicken chestnut. 
  4. Eh, skip the sesame oil. It takes away from the soy flavor! 
As a side dish, we had a spinach stir fry with fermented tofu sauce. Eh it was alright. The spinach ends were tough AF (too lazy to cut when cooking; big mistake). Threw in some enoki just because I had some at home and it was about to go bad.
