Lol, what a funny name. TBH the dish was great but we made a fatal mistake of forgetting to make rice!!!! It is a 白饭杀手. We had to eat it with udon, which wasn't bad, but it could have been way more amazing with rice. So I need to make it again! (Not even going to tag noodles, because that's just a second rate carb to go with this).
Love the discovery of the white fermented bean curd dipping sauce. It's wild. It's super strong, quite overpowering and shocking when you first taste it... but it grows on you! I like it.
Edit: We made this again in December 2020 with WoksofLife's recipe and had it as a stew with rice. I can't recall exactly but I think as a stew Bob'sYourUncle had a better tasting stew... more flavorful, thought ingredients are about the same.
